The philosophy of Rhythm & Grace Dance Studios can be summed up in one simple statement:
Dancers are made with Rhythm & Grace!™
To us, this is more than a simple "marketing" line, it really is what we are about.
Keeping our clients' personal dance desires is central to what we do. You will see that the first time you contact us and come to the studio. You will know you are understood when we start you or your child's lesson. We will be on time, and with our full attention. You will discover the ease and simplicity that learning to dance actually can be as you or your children are introduced to the basics to the dances being studied and progressed to higher levels of skill and variety as one becomes more proficient. There will be more and more enjoyment as one starts experiencing the benefits dance brings to all people as the lessons progress.
More confidence will be found with each accomplishment and we will regularly be checking with you to ensure your private lesson time is still being directed towards your central goals and desires. As you become more aware of what dancing has to offer your life - you may find goals change. (That's to be expected and welcomed.) One learns how to move and discovers how to keep a cadence. All the while, one will feel a regular and routine tempo in progress to where one wants to be and one will be actively transforming into the dancer one is aspiring towards. One will have a rhythm themselves and in their progress, just as there is a rhythm in a dance, a song, or in life. The dancer gains rhythm.
It is routine early on for students to comment on (and parents of young dancers to notice) the welcome changes they feel in their posture, their ability to move, their poise, they way they look better and their health and energy. (It is also common for those who thought they started dancing too late, any time is a good time to start dancing. Our 60 plus crowd will tell you dance transcends the limits of age.) In time, through learning dance with us, the dancer becomes seemingly effortless in movement and form. Their bodies develop a sense of symmetry. One will feel a sense of fitness and ownership of themselves in a way that persons not brought into dance might never experience. In short, the dancer develops grace.
The basic reason we work to keep your desires central, to ensure we are accountable for our actions, and to do all we can to ensure you can experience what dance has to offer you - is to give you a place and people that help you discover and define your own rhythm and grace. So, this is why we always proudly say (no matter how corny it may sound), "Dancers are made with Rhythm & Grace!™"
