I've been telling a lot of students in the last year about an article clipping I had read from the Wall Street Journal, published circa March, 2013. Another student had brought a clipping of it to me and I was very surprised. I finally found the article, and I am putting a link up for it.

How the Tax Man cleared the Dance Floor. Be sure to click the Read More link below for a little of my own take on this, as well as my surprise.

I ran across this article and thought I should offer a link to it on my site. Written by Patsy Holden, I think it is a very fair article on the promises and pitfalls of ballroom dance costs. I am a huge proponent of having educated students, this is a nicely balanced article for information for anyone who desires to pursue ballroom dancing.

The Cost of Ballroom Dancing

Rhythm & GraceAs you can see, the site has been updated!

The reason for updating this once again is due to my dance studio opening up in Uptown Lakewood, and I wanted a better internet experience to reflect the business opening.

One thing that I do, that I have yet to see any dance studio utilize, is integrating my site to my students' study experience. I have an entire section of my site devoted to enrolled students that they can use to access lesson information, skills they can work on from home or on-the-go, and be able to refer to their choreography and notes, as well as soon be able to track their progress on our medalist system.

But I've also made it easy for new people to find out more about my school and get started.

The site framework I chose is very easy to customize and you will be seeing further developments as the site progresses.

In the meantime, I am open to suggestions that you feel might improve the experience further, so feel free to contact me and let me know about this.

Looking forward to a great year!

Sincerely,

Standardized Ballroom dancing comes in two styles, American and International.

American style has a basically different development, contributed to by many sources - U.S. studio chains such as Arthur Murray’s and Fred Astaire, and independent U.S. studios and exists in some level of standardized form in each. Several certifying organizations exist and the curriculums can generally be quite variable between chains and studios. Organizations such as the National Dance Council of America (NDCA), the United States Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (USISTD) and Dance Vision (DVIDA), among others, offer standardized dance syllabi in the American Style.

With Special Guest, World Dancesport Champion - Kimberley Mitchell

Join us for a special day as we officially open our studio to Cleveland, Ohio!

We founded Rhythm & Grace because we wanted to create an environment tailored to the student. We wanted a place that people could just enjoy learning and excelling in dance at from knowledgeable and high quality, seasoned instructors. We also wanted to make it without the exorbitant markup and high prices traditionally found in many ballroom schools. (It annoys us to no end how often a love for dance could be created in a student which was then rapidly turned into students later paying high mark-up prices for events and, quite often, low quality instruction.)

We believe anyone can be as good as they want to be. That the client is paying for actual SERVICE, not drama or more sales pitches. We believe that working to keep costs and prices lower helps students accomplish more with their dancing. Most of all, we believe that students deserve the best quality, patience and interest from us that we can give. We certainly hope you feel the same and hope you consider us for your dancing needs.

That said, our grand opening's itinerary is as follows...

-Coaching December 11th and 12th with Kimberley Mitchell (by appointment only)

-Kimberley Mitchell's Dance Workshops (recommended for Advanced, Competitive and Showcase dancers)

(Cost to attend workshops, $35 per person per class. Take advantage of our combined package of $55 for both classes)

  • Smooth (7:00PM to 7:45PM)
  • Rhythm (7:45PM to 8:30PM)

-Ribbon Cutting & Open House (8:00PM to 9:30PM)

Kimberley and studio founder, Angel Criado will also perform an International Latin Cha Cha exhibition for our guests.

Join us for hors d'oeuvres, dancing and fun and let us introduce our studio to you and your friends!

Looking forward to seeing you there,
